Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Role:
Nurse Practitioner needed for busy inpatient hospital psychiatric unit. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for management of inpatient unit in conjunction with the care team which includes a psychiatrist, nursing staff, social worker, and the practitioner. The Nurse Practitioner will order and evaluate labs and diagnostic tests, handle admissions and discharges, and attend care meetings for all patients. This is an opportunity to work at one of the premier psychiatric facilities in the area.
Schedule is M-F 8a - 5p with some rotating call shifts to cover inpatient unit only.
Facility is a mid-size unit with approximately 16 - 18 for average census. Administration would like to see the census grow but need to bring on additional practitioners to allow for that growth.
Must have all not some of the following requirements to be considered for this position:
Must have a Master of Science degree in Nursing
Must have an Iowa RN license and Nurse Practitioner license or must have the ability to be licensed in the state of Iowa
Must have a strong medical background with good general assessment skills
Must have a strong background in psychiatric nursing, either as APN or RN
Must have a minimum of 4+ years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
